Alrighty! For my first goal I'm going to try a little experiment. I sometimes, I hate to admit, forget to say my morning prayer when I'm hastily awoken by attention needing children. So, my goal is to drop to my knees the instant I wake up, no matter what else is going on. Specifically, I want to start my day off dedicating my day to the Lord. I love this scripture in 2 Nephi 32:9
"But behold, I say unto you that ye must pray always, and not faint; that ye must not perform any thing unto the Lord save in the first place ye shall pray unto the Father in the name of Christ, that he will consecrate thy performance unto thee, that thy performance may be for the welfare of thy soul."
I'm hoping consciously dedicating my day to the Lord will help remind me that the work I'm doing, though sometimes redundant, is eternally important.
Official start day is Monday! Can't wait!

You might try a Prayer Rock.
ReplyDeleteYou put it on the floor at night so that you stub your toe on it in the morning to remind you to say your prayers. Then put it on your pillow so that when you go to bed you hit it with your head and it reminds you to say your prayers. :)

DeleteSo I can't figure out how to write my own post… Only reply to one of yours… But my goal is to follow my scripture plan, do more thoughtful prayers... Be more involved in the family scripture study

ReplyDeleteYes! 6:20 a.m. and my eyes were still heavy with sleep, but I did it! Bleh I'm exhausted! I was doing great being all uppity and awesome until around 1 pm. Then I died :-P how do people do this? I need like 7 naps if I wake up before 8 am! :)
ReplyDeleteI am working on reading some church books that enhance my scripture study. I want to continue thoughtful prayers… They have been so much better!
